The Unit 5 test will be next week on Wednesday, Jan. 30. The topics covered will be Canadian geography, history, government, and economics. By this point all students should have the following resources in their social studies notebook:
1. Physical/Political Map of Canada 2. Canadian Geography Video Questions 3. Environmental Issues in Canada Guided Notes 4. Guided Student PPT Notes- Canada's Geography 5. History of Canada Graphic Organizer 6. Canada's Government Cloze Notes 7. Canada's Economy Cloze Notes 8. Canada's Voluntary Trade/NAFTA Cloze Notes 9. Canada Economy Concept Wheel Here is the schedule for next week: Monday- Unit 5 Study Guide work day Tuesday- BYOD Unit 5 Test review day Wednesday- Unit 5 Test Thursday- Remediation for students who did not pass the test and acceleration for students who did pass. Friday- Test retake for students who did not pass and continued acceleration for those students who did pass. We hope everyone had a great break! Only 41 more days until the next one! We wanted to welcome everyone back and really hit the ground running for the second semester. We are moving into our unit on Canada. Here is how the schedule looks for this week:
Monday- Unit 5 Pre-test and start on Canada Political/Physical Map Tuesday- Finish up Canada map and watch Canada Geo. Video with video questions Wednesday- Guided Notes on Canadian Geo. and Environmental Issues Thursday- Students begin their Public Service Announcement (PSA) Project on one of Canada's environmental issues. (They will receive a rubric that day, which will also be posted on this blog post that same day). Friday- Students will complete their PSA Project in class. **DO NOT work on your PSA outside of class. It is an in-class assignment and needs to be worked on and completed IN CLASS. ***The Unit 5 Post-test date will be announced later in a separate post. |
