Students learned the four environmental issues of Canada (mining, water pollution, algal bloom, and clear cutting). Students created PSA's in class (or at home if they needed extra time) for a grade. Students will learn about the history of Canada, the influence of the French, and the independence movement of Quebec.
Students are wrapping up the physical features of Canada this week and moving onto a CIA investigation packet. Students will be CIA investigators who are answering the mysterious question "Why do 90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the border?". This packet will be worked on in class this week and next week. Students will analyze various maps and determine which factors impact where people chose to live. The last task if a letter written to explain their findings based on their investigation. The daily analysis will count as a class grade and the final report letter will be a test grade.
